Extended Day Program

Lancaster Promise Neighborhood promises to do whatever it takes with the community to make sure every child who lives in the zone has the opportunity for success. The Extended Day Program is the new frontier for academic excellence.

Extended Academic Day Program Highlights

Extended Academic Day provides students with after-school academic services. These services consist of a combination of after-school instruction, nutrition, and enrichment.

Extended Day Focus Points

  • Allows students to receive additional instruction to help improve grades and increase knowledge and skills
  • Keeps students active and healthy with physical fitness
  • Educates students on nutrition for a healthy diet

The attendance zone includes Clinton Elementary, A.R. Rucker Middle, and Lancaster High Schools. The Clinton attendance zone includes the Newtown neighborhood around Arch Street, Chesterfield Avenue, Dunlap and Gay Streets, Pardue Street Apartments, and most of the Midway neighborhood.

Extended Day Stipend Requirements

We Will Use the ABE System for Stipends:

A = Attendance

Student attendance in the regular school day along with the Extended Day will be factored into the stipend.

B = Behavior

Students behavior during the regular school day along with the Extended Day will be factored into the stipend.

E = Engagement

Students engagement with Extended Day in the form of consistent attendance, and full participation in Extended Day classes will be factored into the stipend.

Incentive Rates

90-100% Attendance - $75.00

90-100% attendance at school and extended day program

No behavioral complaints at school or extended day program

Participation in Extended Day snacks (emphasis on fruits and vegetables)

80-89% Attendance - $60.00

80-89% attendance at school and extended day program

No behavioral complaints at school or extended day program

Participation in Extended Day snacks (emphasis on fruits and vegetables)

70-79% Attendance - $45.00

70-79% attendance at school and extended day program

No behavioral complaints at school or extended day program

Participation in Extended Day snacks (emphasis on fruits and vegetables)

Below 70% Attendance - No Stipend
Attendance below 70% earns no stipend

Students will lose $10 for every behavioral complaint logged at school or extended day

For each infraction, students will lose a portion of their stipend. The stipend will be given at the end of each 6-week cycle.

Together, we can harness the power of collective action and create positive change at every level! Coupled with our programs, community support helps us create an atmosphere of hope, unity, and an excitement for learning for our children.
